New theme! Let’s have fun under the sea!

Let’s start the holidays with a game that the whole family can play together!

What is it

Sea creatures themed bingo game

  1. 3 variations of play cards (for players to use)

  2. Calling card (to call out the sea creatures)

Teaching Objectives

  • Learn the names of different sea creatures

  • Develop listening skills

  • Develop turn taking skills

  • Learn how to be a good player

How to use

Easy mode

  • Cut out individual pictures from the calling card and place the pictures in a box

  • Each player gets a playing card

  • Players will take turns picking out a calling card picture and saying out the name of the sea creature

  • All players will cross out or stamp the same sea creature on their player card

  • Repeat these steps until a player gets 3 sea creatures in a row (horizontally, vertically or diagonally)

  • Shout out ‘Bingo!’ to win the game

Advanced mode

  • Instead of calling out the sea creature’s name, players have to describe the sea creature for the other players to guess (eg. this sea creature is green, it has a shell and it lays eggs in the sand)

Teaching tips

  • Write out the rules of the games

  • Remind players that they need to take turns before starting the game and go through the sequence of play (Player A is first, Player B is second, Player C is third)

  • Praise all players for playing nicely regardless of who wins or loses

Embed more learning opportunities

  • Ask questions about the sea creatures (Which sea creature has a shell? Point to the one with tentacles)
