Let's learn simple shapes!



What is it

A set of worksheets to teach shapes through matching, colouring, tracing, and cut and paste activities


Teaching Objectives

  • Identify basic shapes (i.e. circle, square, triangle, rectangle)

  • Learn to write and spell the shape words

  • Practice matching, tracing, colouring and writing skills





How to use

  • Read the word and help your child to associate the shape word to the correct shape

  • Encourage your child to read the words aloud

  • Encourage your child to spell out the letters while writing the letters of the words


Teaching tips

  • Use 3D or real-life items to practice the shapes with your kids for better understanding and generalization

  • Pair this worksheet with videos to make learning colours more fun
