Learning Opposites Clean and Dirty!

What is it

A set of worksheets to help children differentiate clean and dirty attributes through tracing, writing, matching, and sorting activities

Teaching Objectives

  • Learn to read and understand the concepts (clean, dirty)

  • Learn to read and follow instructions (trace, write, circle, match, cut and sort)

  • Practice fine motor skills

  • Sustain attention for completing worksheets

How to use

  • Use the prompts to teach and let your child learn and differentiate between clean and dirty

  • Practice on the words (clean/dirty) itself and then on pictures through tracing and writing

  • Tracing and Writing, Matching and Sorting - explain to child what is the worksheet about and begin with the pages with prompts and proceed to fade the prompt

Teaching tips

  • For worksheets with more pictures, explain to the child why the item is clean or dirty by pointing out the descriptions of the pictures - “The ball is dirty because there is mud on the ball.”

Embed more learning opportunities

  • Receptive language - “Point to the dirty shirt.”

  • Expressive language – Point to a picture and ask “What is this?” Child may answer “dirty shirt”
