I see and I count activity
Make learning fun by playing ‘I spy with my little eyes’ with your child
This printable really puts your child’s attending and ability to scan to the test! The simplified version comes with a white background, while the advanced version has a farm scene where you’ll really need to use your eye power!
You may model for your child by saying “I spy with my little eyes....some ducks! There are 1, 2, 3, 4 ducks! Now it’s your turn!”
Give your child time to look for the animal in the picture. If it is too challenging, you can cover parts of the picture to reduce the area he needs to scan
Teaching tip
Children tend to count too quickly! Develop a good habit to point and count one animal at a time purposefully. This will help to develop one-to-one correspondence, which is a building block of counting
