Cut and Paste Colours!

What is it

Cut and Paste activity with Matching Colours

Teaching Objectives

  • Practice fine motor skills of cutting & pasting

  • Learn how to handle sharp objects i.e. scissors

  • Matching colours with the use of shape prompts

How to use

Cutting

  • Cut out different coloured shapes (triangle, square, circle)

Pasting and Matching

  • Match cut out with its corresponding shape and colour

  • Paste the shape according to correct alignment

Teaching tips

  • Make the activity more challenging by shuffling the order of the worksheets to see if your child can match the colours without predicting their order

  • With the help of Velcro stickers, you can turn this into a reusable worksheet for your child to practice several tasks, including improving their scanning, fluency, and sustained attention!

Embed more learning opportunities

  • Receptive language - Where’s orange?

  • Expressive language - What colour is the airplane?
