Updated: Jul 11, 2022

What is it

Sorting objects of different colours into different coloured jars

Teaching Objectives

  • Identifying colours

  • Identifying the colour of an object

  • Matching the colour of the object to the colour of the jar

How to use

  • Print out all the pages. Cut out each object (last 3 pages)

  • Give your child one object to match at a time. Progress to sorting 3 to 4 objects at a time if your child is able to.

  • Optional: laminate and add velcro on the jars and objects for repeated use.

Teaching tips

  • Generalise by using other objects or pictures around the house.

  • Ask your child “What colour is the apple?” or “Which object is red?”

  • Increase or reduce the number of jars or objects according to your child’s level.
