How to use

  • Introduce the different labels associated with Chinese New Year

  • Get child to articulate words associated with each picture

  • Fully prompt child to complete worksheets if needed and fade prompts whenever child is more familiar with format of worksheet


Teaching tips

  • Let your child watch videos related to Chinese New Year to teach them more about the festival and what they can expect

Here are some videos:

  • Introduce the labels to child during Chinese New Year visiting or when walking along the streets (ie. look, it’s a lantern!)


Embed more learning opportunities

  • Receptive language - Point to the red packet

  • Expressive language - Point to a picture and ask ‘What’s this/What colour’

  • Reading- what word is this?
